The Man wrote the Thesaurus

i saw in today's newpaper abt Peter Mark Roget, creator of the Thesaurus. here's a summary of the events in his life.

He came from a distinguished British family. His mother suffered severe depression, often accusing the ervants of plotting against her. Both his sister and daughter suffered depression and mental problems. his uncle, British member of parliament Sir Samuel Romilly, known for his opposition to the slave trade and support civil liberties. he slit his own throat while Roget tried to get the razor out of his hands.

After reading this, my first reaction was oh my..What a terrible Life~!! this man's life is ruined, robbed of every ounce of happiness, filled with grief, pain, suffering, woe and bitterness!! his work, the list of words he compiled, just seems so little significance!

Then i carried on reading and discovered, many writers have declared their debt to Roget, including Peter Pan's author. British journalist Simon winchester held Roget in honour for reducing tremendous amount of work that allows writer to look up rather then think it out.

i realised how God can put meaning in one's life even when it all seems hopeless, even when the whole world(including me) thinks your life is over! what fantastic work this man has accomplished in his life that has benefitted millions! WowW!

At first glance, this man's life was cursed! all i could see for a moment was Woes! i couldnt see any blessing!

Blessed is the man who counts his blessings(realise one is blessed of many things daily!), Woe to the man who is blind to his blessings though they come in every form daily.

Do u see your blessing?

Dear Father, thank you for your blessing everyday that comes unconditionally though i do not deserve them but u still give them nontheless through ur grace.
